Defra - Some of our most interesting and challenging projects include ongoing work with the UK public sector.

FOEN - Barbara has acted as technical expert to the Marrakech Task Force on Sustainable Procurement for several years.

Sustainable Procurement Task Force - While on secondment to the Sustainable Development Unit at Defra, Barbara acted as Project Manager for the business-led Sustainable Procurement Task Force.

Defra
Some of our most interesting and challenging projects include the ongoing work with the UK public sector. This includes rolling out sustainable procurement training based on the Marrakech Task Force sustainable public procurement training materials. This approach has been developed with adaptations made for a UK audience and has been backed by DEFRA. Barbara is involved in developing and delivering these sustainable procurement training materials for training programmes targeted at education, health and local authority organizations. Barbara recently worked on secondment to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to deliver Defra's targets resulting from the UK Government Sustainable Procurement Action Plan, 2007.
Sustainable Procurement Task Force
While on secondment to the Sustainable Development Unit at Defra, Barbara acted as Project Manager for the business-led Sustainable Procurement Task Force, chaired by Sir Neville Simms. Barbara delivered a set of recommendations entitled "Procuring the Future" to government within a 12 month period.
Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN)

Since 2005 Barbara has acted as technical expert to the Marrakech Task Force on Sustainable Public Procurement chaired by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Berne Switzerland. Sustainable Procurement Limited has recently developed and delivered a sustainable procurement training package and supporting guidance on behalf of the Task Force.

The seven Marrakech Task Forces including the Sustainable Public Procurement Task Force, were established in 2003 under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Work on this project took place with public procurement authorities in the UK, Switzerland, Brazil and Argentina.

The Marrakech Task Force approach to sustainable public procurement training has been given backing by DEFRA for application in the UK.
